Child protection is the safeguarding of children from violence, exploitation, abuse, and neglect. It involves identifying signs of potential harm, responding to allegations or suspicions of abuse, providing support and services to protect children, and holding those who have harmed them accountable. The primary goal of child protection is to ensure that all children are safe and free from harm. This includes physical, emotional, psychological, and sexual abuse; neglect; exploitation; and violence. Child protection also works to prevent future harm by creating policies and systems that identify and respond to risks before they lead to harm.
Centre Management Committees
Every CFG Center has a Center Management Committee which is responsible for child rights protection in the respective areas. Each committee includes community people, school teachers of the area, health workers, and club members of the area along with prominent person of the particular locality.
Child Protection Committees
Child Friendly Guwahati is now moving towards upgrading CMCs to CPCs involving the duty bearers. It is a community based monitoring system in creating safety net for our children in the grass-root level. CFG have formed Child Protection Committees at 5 centres and the remaining 31 centres are in process of performing.
Awareness Campaigns
Child Friendly Guwahati regularly organizes Awareness Campaigns as part of their aim to keep a check on the child rights violation cases happening across the 36 locations where Child Friendly Guwahati has been actively working. A number of awareness generating methods are adopted for the purpose.
